Ward v. Zhu

Jiwa Law Corporation represented Jennifer Ward, a passenger in a bus who fell when the bus she was on had to make a sudden stop for a vehicle that turned in front of it but could not avoid colliding with that vehicle. The driver of the vehicle that turned in front of the bus admitted fault for causing the accident.

Ms. Ward, at the time of Trial, had continued to suffer from her injuries. Prior to Trial, ICBC would not pay Ms. Ward any more than $15,000 for her injuries and refused to pay for any contribution towards her legal fees. At Trial, Mr. Justice Goepel awarded Ms. Ward more than $25,000.00 in damages and also ordered the Defendant to pay Ms. Ward a contribution towards her legal fees in addition to her expenses in fighting the case.

No matter how big or small a case is – if ICBC is making an unreasonable offer Jiwa Law Corporation is willing to get what is fair at Trial.
